Lindsey’s full Muse feature, The Science of Being Seen, is now live on The Musings Project.

Lindsey photographed through forest leaves for The Science of Being Seen, a fine art nude model interview from The Musings Project.

I chose Lindsey for this project because she is not easily summarized, and that is exactly what makes her interesting to photograph.

She has been modeling since she was a teenager, but modeling is only one piece of the picture. She has worked independently, spent time in the agency world, trained with Coco Rocha, studied neuroscience, explored bodywork, and still talks about all of it like she is trying to build one complete life out of pieces that most people would keep in separate boxes.

That is what kept coming up in our conversation: integration.

Art and science. Humor and seriousness. Body and intellect. The awkward kid and the model. The person being looked at, and the person doing the looking back.

Lindsey is funny as hell, but not in a throwaway way. Her humor has teeth. It comes from observation, discomfort, and learning how to move through rooms where she did not always feel like she fit. Then, just as quickly, she can shift into something still, direct, and almost severe. That switch is part of what makes her so good in front of the camera.

She doesn't just pose, she participates.

That matters to me because The Musings Project is not about taking a beautiful woman, putting her in good light, and calling the job done. The image may begin with beauty, but it has to go somewhere else. There has to be a person inside it.

With Lindsey, that person is impossible to miss.

The full feature includes studio fashion nudes, outdoor editorial work, and an interview about modeling, neuroscience, body image, humor, confidence, creative collaboration, and what it means to be seen without being reduced.

The body is present but it is not the whole story.
